this jacket is made using a cyanotype medium that was freehand hand painted on 10oz white denim duck canvas. hand embroidered blanket stitching. after the medium cured, the blue became brighter and beautiful irregularities were brought to surface, including the turning of white to faint blue in the sun.

I really loved this experience and process. it brought me out of my perfectionist tendencies that accompany tailoring. I didn't tape the edges for straight lines. I didn't draw the grid ahead of time. I didn't measure my squares when I was painting. I just kind of went for it.

Some stripes are not finished and I think that's a reflection of how this process went. I just kind of went with the flow.
