this shirt is made from a cotton/linen blend. the blue stripes are an oxford weave cotton and the off-white stripes are a textured slub linen. this textile is magical.
randomly throughout the shirt are hand embroidered monograms in various classic fonts of some of the cities around the world that I've shipped kpc. pieces to.
yes, the silhouette is a camp shirt.
But!! I decided to change things up. I have been thinking of doing a raglan sleeve on a camp shirt for some time, but never got around to drafting the pattern. I finally decided to draft it after thinking (dreaming) of it in my sleep.
It's an interesting take because I do feel that raglan sleeves are kind of silently saved for outerwear or athleticwear (those vintage 3/4 baseball tees) and I wanted to maybe make them a little more formal. while we're at it, why not make a long sleeves with a double pleat and barrel cuffs?
a great idea.
