1940s cotton hand applique quilt topper. the overall textile is basically a grid of turquoise with pink blocks where they meet. within the grids are tonal pink tulips.
tie front, full sleeve. cropped peplum body. matching shorts? perhaps. maybe big pants.
it's always fun to throw some womenswear in the mix. when I'm feeling flat creatively, it's fun to shake things up. once they're shaken, I find it easier to jump back into the menswear. strangely enough, I find this sort of womenswear easier than the tailored mens pieces. it's more free flowing, less structured. but I guess that's what you get when you have a tailor making fun womenswear?
