chenille crescent shirt

after developing and embellishing my own textiles for a while, I went to my textile archives and pulled out these 3 1930s chenille coverlets. they are hand tufted on bleached feedsack cotton. I've had them for about 6 years and had made 2 other shirts with them years ago (which left me with remnants that I couldn't really figure out at the time). The tufted yarns are in royal blue, turquoise, and seafoam green.

Its so nice to step away for a bit and then come back with a fresh headspace to create something you couldn't see before. It was probably too much overthinking on my part.

this textile is imperfectly perfect in all ways.

It’s finished with a clean placket, pearl buttons, and precise construction throughout. The inside is just as considered as the outside.

  • Convertible camp collar

  • Relaxed fit

  • Natural agoya shell pearl buttons

  • Split side seams

  • Clean finished interior

Please note that all textiles used are 50 to 125+ years old and may contain irregularities and/or areas of irregular color. All stains and fabric imperfections have been treated by us to the best of our ability and are common with vintage and antique textiles.

1/2 Chest: 25.5”

Front body length from HPS: 28.5”
